  11. Went diving on the Magician this last Sunday to the oil rigs. The conditions were not that bad. The ride was smooth out. From what I heard on Saturday they had 7 foot seas so it was not fun being out this Saturday. The water at the rigs was pretty green. So it was not the best of conditions. It was also pretty surgy on the rigs. It was good just to be in the water. Here are pics from the day at the rigs:

  13. Sony HXR-NX3D1 NXCAM 3D Compact Camcorder with Sealux underwater housing Used Sony HXR-NX3D1 NXCAM 3D Compact Camcorder. This camera is full working condition with some minor cosmetic wear and tear. The LCD screen has a few pixels out but does not effect the quality of recording. There is an internal hard drive that allows 1080P HD recording up to 9 hours. There are 2 XLR inputs for microphones. This is a great camera if you are interested in shooting 3D or just 2D. Perfect for someone looking for a small camcorder that is easy to use with excellent quality. The SeaLux housing has complete control over all functions of the camera and is extremely ergonomic. It can be taken to depths of 200 feet which I have personally been with it. If you are intersted or have questions please PM me or reach by email. Nino.ten@gmail.com $2100 obo
  14. I am looking for a good home for my dive gear. The equipment has been well cared for and all worked well when it was last in service, but it has been unused for nearly a decade now so is all in need of a thorough service, clean, and check and is thus being sold/traded as-is. Make me an offer. Photos are of actual items : SeaQuest Balance BC M/L Oceanic piston First and Delta 3 Second stage regulator, plus and Octopus with Depth gauge and Compass If you're in New York City or the tri-state area, i'm happy to meet up for you to take a look. I will consider trade or partial trades for Nikon photo equipment and/or surf or dive housings for Nikon D750, D700. ITEMS MUST GO TOGETHER, CONUS ONLY, I ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS
  15. All, One thing the Scuba community is missing is a good chat platform. This serves a different purpose than that of the forum, allowing people to discuss scuba diving in real time, and will hopefully create a small organic community of those that enjoy chatting to each other in real time. I'll try bridging the gap between the various communities (e.g. facebook, forums etc.). Discord is a rich text, voice and video chat application, heavily used across teams and members of various communities. I've set up a Discord server called 'Scuba Diving' - where the aim is to initially start small and grow it as hopefully, more members get interested. You can use Discord through the web, desktop client, or mobile app. The invite is here: https://discord.gg/mM2Hg7e Please let me know if you have any feedback or comments. Thanks all, SineTwo

You can enjoy taking pictures all day long without having to recharge the batteries. The recycle time takes about two seconds with nickel-metal hydride batteries (2700 mAh) for stress-free continuous shooting. The YS-01 is furnished with a high-luminance white LED target light (1W) indicating the optical axis of the strobe attached to its front face that is effective for night diving. 22. It's taken rather too long, but I've just finished going through images from last year, taken aboard MV Sea Spirit in the Maldives. https://www.flickr.com/photos/timsdiving/sets/72157643891843663/
  23. I travelled out to the Maldives as a result of BSoUP's 2012 "Splash-in" competition, joining the MV Sea Spirit and its faithful dhoni to cruise the well-travelled but surprisingly interesting Thilas and channels of Ari Atoll. The boat looks small, until you realise that all the dive gear stays on the dhoni with the compressor and Nitrox. It's actually as comfortable as the much bigger and superficially more impressive boats that ply the Red Sea and Indonesian waters. There are still shoals of fish, sharks of all kinds (somewhat oppressed by crowds if they venture too close to the bigger resort islands), rays, turtles and pretty reefs, largely, I suspect, because of the intermittently fierce currents that squirt in and out of the atolls. For a routine trip, this was something of an eye-opener! More images: https://www.flickr.com/photos/timsdiving/sets/72157643891843663/
  24. My photo of a juvenile Flying Fish is the cover shot on 'FlyMega', the inflight magazine of Mega Maldives Airlines! Also they put an article about me and my work titled 'Mr. Underwater'. Awesome!
