I admired a traveler who used a very sturdy box to transport video camera, housing, fins, wetsuit, etc. Apparently it is called a Balikbayan box, but I can't find a seller in the US. These folks in the Phillippines produce both a wheeled box, and a cover with handles that can be used on a 20" x 20" x 20" box: http://www.lugmaxbags.com/travelbags.html The wheeled box is especially cool, with corrugated plastic instead of cardboard. I'm sure I'm not the only one who might have some moist gear on the return trip... Does anyone know where to get such items? Double-wall corrugated boxes in the right size is of course easy: http://www.pkging.com/Doublewall-Boxes-20-20-20-275 Check this out:
Hi, I'm selling my ThinkTank carry-on, purchased last year. It has only been on one trip and is in excellent condition. You can see the bag at the ThinkTank website. Asking $350 (including shipping in the US) or best offer. I'll post photos of the bag later. Thanks!
Has anyone recently flown with TAME from mainland equador to Baltra Galapagos? Was wondering about the experience regarding overweight luggage and carry on's. I don't have a problem paying for extra weight. But on their website it says not to check any camera or electronic equipment. Their carryon policy is 7 kg. Will they allow the carryons to be overweight, but I have to pay for the overweight ? or will they simply not allow it? Any help would be appreciated. Dustin
