Scuba_SI 39 Posted March 14, 2007 I am confused ... a video of some guy in thailand feeding an eel for the camera you all throw stones at him .. and he went through the hardship of loosing a thumb.A picture of another guy in the caribbean feeding an eel whilst holding it with a dive knife at his side ... now all that gets mentioned is the pink fins and skinny legs .. seems like a topsy turvy world to me. Graham must be out diving, he'll get you... eventually!!

Graham Abbott 0 Posted March 24, 2007 I was out and now back in Sorong. A little saddened with news of a great loss over here in Indonesia, so no dramatic comments for me at the moment, just reading whats going on! Hope to be back on track soon though! Michel Braunstein 1 Posted February 25, 2013 The diver apparently wanted to get this moray more photogenic by giving it some food. He left his thumb in the eel's mouth and got a toe as replacement! http://youtu.be/YHDlL7Xpwfc Video posted: Admin

Deep6 7 Posted February 25, 2013 Even worse, he's still doing it (feeding the moray) Is he? I think the last segment is a repeat of the incident. He can be thankful the operation was successful. I recall a huge green moray in Cozy that would greet divers and try to swim through their BCs. Eventually, the eel ended up on someone’s dinner plate. liquidguru 17 Posted February 26, 2013 Is he? The guy, I believe, is an American DM working in Thailand. He had been feeding it for a long time. After recovering he went back and keeps feeding it. It's what he's 'famous' for.

It's what he's 'famous' for. That's too bad. I disapprove of feeding the locals, but a thumb is a small payment for all the ugani we eat. Bob
