aussie_bubbles 1 Posted October 17, 2019 I'm currently interested in making a DIY 3-leg tripod for videography. If anyone has any smart ideas I'd love to hear about them.
SwiftFF5 119 Posted October 17, 2019 There are several threads here already on this topic. Here is a link to one of them:

bill1946 10 Posted October 17, 2019 These are some great ideas. I found this worked best for me. I've been shooting video for years. Most of the time I want the tripod to disappear. Big is bad, small is good. Mostly for macro. Otherwise, good buoyancy is my friend. Current? Muck stick works well. https://www.amazon.com/Rienar-Flexible-Portable-Adjustable-Cellphone/dp/B00XTHBE6A/ref=lp_499308_1_16?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1571321380&sr=1-16
Davide DB 239 Posted October 17, 2019 Too small and light for my setup
Interceptor121 470 Posted October 17, 2019 GorillaPod are good for off camera strobes or best case video lights With nauticam housing or ULCS tray base you can build a base that is on 3 wide feet and works well for macro https://interceptor121.com/panasonic-gh5/macro-video/
gobiodon 38 Posted October 23, 2019 I used only loc-line parts (and some additional screews to create a quadropod. I used 1/2 " parts but perhaps 3/4" would be more stable. It was very easy to assemble. You can see it in work in this video:

It would probaly not stable enough in current. I glued some led to the last section, but you need bigger rig in current for sure.
