Paper describes new technique for assessing whale shark age
A paper published in the Frontiers in Marine Science Journal outlines an innovative new approach to aging whale sharks (Rhincodon typus). Using the increase of Carbon 14 that occurred after the nuclear bomb tests that started in the late 1940s as a datum, the technique can use the known decay curve of the radioactive isotope to provide an accurate age. So far, the results suggest that sharks are much more long-lived than was previously thought.
Ikelite announces housing for Olympus ON-D E-M1 Mark III
Ikelite is accepting pre-orders for its 200DLM/B housing for the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III mirrorless camera. Constructed of ABS-PC, it will ship with a manual strobe bulkhead, with the option of the DL3 DS Link TTL Converter. It is compatible with Ikelite’s Dry Lock Micro port system.

Prograde Digital announces CFexpress Type B card readers
Prograde Digital has announced two new card readers. The PG04 reads CFexpress Type B and XQD cards and can transfer data at speeds up to 40Gb/s (5GB/s) via Thunderbolt 3. The PG05.5 supports both CFexpress Type B and SDXC, UHS-II cards via USB 3.2 at speeds of up to 10Gb/s.
