Canon shutters Irista cloud service

Canon has announced that it will shut down its cloud-based image storage, Irista from 31 January 2020. The company has stated that all “photos, videos and personal data held in Irsita will be deleted on this date.” All images and videos can be downloaded in 4GB zip files in order to remove them from the site. The announcement goes on to state that Canon does not plan to replace Irista with another similar service.

Aquatica announces A7RIV housing

Aquatica has announced their new housing for the Sony a7rIV mirrorless camera. It features self-locating controls, new joystick control and full access to back-button AF. Its fully compatible with Aquatica’s existing ports. Options include either Nikonos or Ikelite electrical strobe triggering or optical connectors and the Surveyor vacuum system and bulkhead ship as standard.

WPOTY 2020 is open for entries

The 2020 Wildlife Photographer of the Year contest is now open for entries. As normal, competition number 56 has 15 adult entry categories, including Under Water, and one category for junior contestants. The deadline for entry is 12 December 2019 and underwater photographer Michael Aw is a member of the judging panel.
